Acoustic Roots

We’re currently in the last phase of the Covid-19 pandemic, and in the coming days most restrictions will be lifted. For Acoustic Roots this means that we will finally be able to record new episodes. But before we do that, one more repeat, alas in an adapted format.
We’ve chosen an episode with Mariana Sadovska to draw attention to the difficult times for herself, her friends and family and the Ukrainian people at the moment. Her performance for us of Ukrainian Callings was persuasive and full of passion with the ancient songs which Mariana had collected during her travels around small Ukrainian towns. Songs for special occasions such as the announcement of spring. Her music is enchanting and heart warming.
We thought it would be a good idea to finish this series of repeats with this episode, to show our support for her and all the people who are suffering under the threats. We’ve included part of a conversation she had last week with Karin van den Boogaert .
