The Dutch percussion player and composer Arend Niks (1960) is a versatile musician. He started out in pop music, educated himself further in jazz and improvised music and also works in dance and theatre. In the mid 1990s he performed with the “Niks Project” octet, for which he also composed the music. Recordings from 1996.
