Als onderdeel van ‘Vrije Radicalen’ vandaag in ‘Under the Lemontree #15: ‘Just Listening:::Ireland Calling:::’. Er komt meer muziek uit Ierland dan folk en U2. Een heel andere kant van het muzikale spectrum vinden we bij Farpoint Recordings; een klein platenlabel opgericht in 2004 door Anthony Kelly en David Stalling.
In eerste instantie om hun eigen creatieve uitingen kwijt te kunnen. Kelly en Stalling zijn zowel audio- als visueel actief, denk daarbij aan schilderijen, voorstellingen, boeken, geluidsonderzoeken, etc. Inmiddels is het een label waar menig geluidskunstenaar een plek gevonden heeft. Geluid in de marge, net als een label in de marge. De releases worden bijna allemaal in een beperkte hoeveelheid genummerd uitgebracht in prachtige vormgeving. Niet handig voor de platenkast, maar het is ook niet verkeerd om buiten het hok te kijken; iets dat we bij de Concertzender ook graag doen. Het is een label met uitgaven die verdienen meer gehoord te worden. Bij deze een kleine aanzet, just listen and lEARn!
