Jazz, blues and nostalgia, by Sjaak Roodenburg. Today, on Wim Sonneveld.
We stray through the huge oeuvre of the most timeless of the Grote Drie (Big Three), Wim Sonneveld, who is mostly loved for his singing and his unparalleled songs. Wim Kan would sometimes criticize Sonneveld during his performances, but even Kan thought Sonneveld was the true master out of the Grote Drie. In this hour, apart from the highlights, we also play some obscurities, like his first record ever from 1934 on which he hilariously describes his enlistment health check and a contagiously funny rehearsal recording of ‘Loflied op Dora’. In short, the first hundred years of Sonneveld.
