Tonight in The Night: classical, an integral performance of the Toccata Terza by twentieth-century English composer Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji (1892-1988).
This composer’s works are rarely performed, not in the least because of the enormous length of his compositions. Therefore, it is extraordinary that this work could be heard on 3 July 2022 at the Willem II music hall in ‘s Hertogenbosch. It was performed by Spanish pianist Abel Sánchez-Aguilera, who specialises in the interpretation of romantic works (e.g. the integral performance of Chopin’s etudes) and modern works (such as Pierre Boulez’s Second Sonata and the premiere of the work " Brevedades" by C. M. González-Portela). He also works as a biochemist in leukaemia research at the University of Madrid.
