Singer Ineke Vandoorn and guitarist Marc van Vugt dive into the contemporary Dutch jazz delta.
When you think of jazz and related music, you quickly imagine musicians playing together, improvising and challenging each other musically. Playing together was a lot harder during the Corona time, and in the last 2 years, quite a few solo albums were released. A nice opportunity for Jazzdelta to look for musicians who “do it on their own”: who do everything they can to really get into the skin of their instrument and convert the result of their solo search into colorful compositions and improvisations. And when you look at which instrumentalists record solo albums, it’s not just pianists: in this episode, we hear violin, voice, recorder, drums, double bass and harpsichord in addition to piano.
