The Early Garden

One hour of browsing through early music, with an accent on Masses.

In memoriam Notre-Dame de Paris (15-4-2019).

het Cavaillé-Coll-orgel

On 15 April 2019, the beautiful cathedral the Notre-Dame was largely burnt down during renovations. The damage was enormous: 70 per cent of its art treasures has been lost. A small miracle is that the northern rose window has been spared, and also three important relics and the large and famous organ with almost 8,000 pipes.

In our memorial programme we’ll go back to the begin period of the Notre-Dame in the 12th and 13th century. We’ll also broadcast an organ work played on the Cavaillé-Coll organ of the Notre-Dame.
