The many faces of Marynka.
The Russian Marynka Nicolai has been living in our country for years. In recent times, she has been especially active as a painter with Raag Mala Suite, a collaboration with percussionist DJ Goldfinger (Maxim Shaposhnikov) [see photo below] and sarod player Avi. Together they give a quirky twist to classical Indian music. As a pianist, she also recently recorded a new solo album, titled Red Moon. But before that, she released a number of records with self-written pop songs, of which Privet from 2005 was the first.
