Special crossover music: improvisation with barrel organ.
Pierre Charial can rightfully be called a pioneer of the barrel organ. After his piano studies in Lyon, he threw himself into mechanical musical instruments, and developed a passion for the barrel organ. He succeeded to secure the barrel organ a position in the world of improvisation, thanks to his handmade perforated cardboard books and cylinders, and fanciful swinging of the handle. In this episode we hear two cooperation projects: together with the Swiss pianist Sylvie Courvoisier, and with the German reed player Michael Riessler.
