Part 68 (repeat): the double CD ‘Guerre et Paix 1614-1714’.
With his double CD ‘Guerre et Paix’, Jordi Savall won in the category BEST COLLECTION at the International Classical Music Awards 2016.
Therefore, in this episode we will once again play his CD mentioned. This is the double CD ‘Guerre et Paix 1614-1714’ which contains compositions that revolve around the theme ‘War and Peace’.
The CD is accompanied by an almost 400-pages-long book that gives us a lot of information on the historical background of the 17th century which for Europe was the age of war, conflict, crisis, peace, and finally reconciliation.
Through musical examples, Savall shows us how the 17th century was a chain of long and sad wars and conflicts between people and ethnic groups in Europe.
