Saskia – Creeps In The Dark.
“As a young woman Sacha Vingerhoeds was part of a vibrant creative community in Rotterdam that organized itself under the name of ARTS. There was a primitively created studio situated in the basement of the building where spontaneous recording sessions took place.
Since the house functioned as a communal space, sometimes travelers and unexpected visitors (both from Holland and abroad) passed by and contributed for a shorter or longer period to the creative output of the community. Within this context a highly intimate cassette was recorded by Sacha and friends that combined the elements of improvisation, a free creative spirit and inner spirituality. The title “Eeuwig Op Reis” is hard to translate perfectly but means something like “Endlessly In Transit” or “Perpetual Travel”, in the sense of being on an endless journey or travel. No more than 10 copies of the cassette were made and given to loved ones and family in 1983.”

Jason Lescalleet – In My Time Of Dying It’s Nobody’s Fault But Mine. [Glistening Examples]
Since establishing himself as a preeminent voice in contemporary electro-acoustic study, Jason Lescalleet has exploded the notion of what is possible within the realm of tape-based music. His recorded catalog acknowledges a diversity of application, from lo-fi reel-to-reel soundscaping and work for hand-held cassette machines, to digital sampling and computer generated composition. Lescalleet’s live actions further expand his ouevre to include work with video, dance, performance art and multi-media concerns.
In the past two decades, Lescalleet has gradually and painstakingly compiled a compelling discography on notable labels such as Erstwhile, RRR, Intransitive Recordings, Kye, Celebrate Psi-Phenomenon, Hanson Records, Chondritic Sound, and most recently via his own Glistening Examples imprint. He has collaborated with Kevin Drumm, Aaron Dilloway, Graham Lambkin, Phill Niblock, Joe Colley, John Hudak, Rafael Toral, Thomas Ankersmit, and CM Von Hausswolff, among others, and during this time he’s built a solid reputation for delivering a visceral live experience in concert.

Ghédalia Tazartès – Mourir Un Peu. [Alga Marghen]
French artist Ghédalia Tazartès (1947, Paris) is a nomad. He wanders through music from chant to rhythm, from one voice to another. Tazartès paves the way for the electric and the vocal paths, between the muezzin psalmody and the screaming of a rocker. He traces vague landscapes where the mitre of the white clown, the plumes of the sorcerer, the helmet of a cop and Parisian anhydride collide into polyphonic ceremonies.

Saturday Night is the debut LP by old friends and collaborators Alex Twomey, Matthew Sullivan, and Sean McCann. Recorded over numerous evenings at the artists’ homes, and completed just before the birth of Matthew’s daughter, Flora. The album became an excuse to spend time with one another as well as perform. As the trio ordered take-out, drank scotch, smoked on patios, laughing off the weight of reality–they stumbled into moments of musical focus.
