Today, Radio Romantica treats you to the friendly and lively chamber music of Franz Berwald. This Swedish composer, who lived from 1796 to 1868, wrote accessible music, but often played musical jokes or misled his audience. It took until well into the 20th century for his scores to become common, and even now they are not widely known.
