In September 2008, the fifth album by Okkervil River is released on the label Jagjaguwar: “The stand ins”. In this PopArt an overview of earlier work by this indie folk rock band from Austin, Texas. Frontman Will Sheff keenly lards his narrative texts with references to ‘the dark side’. Motifs were regularly prompted by literature, film, or music by others such as The Beach Boys or Tim Hardin.
