Tonight you can listen to part 2 about the diptych around bass players Hugh Hopper and Eberhard Weber. The first part was aired on 30 September 2015, which you can listen back to via our website of app. In the second part we will listen to experiments, works for bass solo, a jubilee and all sorts of collaboration projects. Tonight Hugh Hopper’s music comes from a series of 10 CDs, which are released as a tribute to a special bass player with an extraordinary sound. Eberhard Weber became partially paralysed, but he was not done with music yet. His last two albums consists of bass solos, on which guests play along or not, such as countryman Ack van Rooyen. His work performed by an orchestra is also part of this programme. And for both applies: ‘bass on top!’
