Great works, and all totally different. 2014 is a top year in opera land. Today, we give attention to Belgian operas with the latest of Philippe Boesmans, and an extraordinary premiere of ‘Shell Shock’ of the Belgian composer Nicholas Lens. The latter deals with the horrors of WWI, which wreaked havoc in Belgium.
