This hour features a new, special CD with early music. Recorder duo Schifanoia’s new CD contains rare recorded duos of Telemann, Philidor, Quantz, Simrock and Guillemant.
On their debut CD, recorder duo Schifanoia explores different styles in baroque music. It is a big challenge for them to play the various aspects of baroque music on a recorder, because of the instrument’s limitations.
The goal of this CD is to show familiar, surprising, cliché, bizarre and entertaining facets of baroque duets. That is why they chose not only famous composers like Telemann, Philidor and Quantz, but also lesser known ones such as Guillemant and Simrock.
