Missa etcetera

thu 9 sep 2021 22:00 hour

Western religious music from different centuries.

This episode is devoted to one French composer: Jean Gilles (1668-1705). He did not leave a large oeuvre, but his Reqiuem made him famous. In the late 18th century it was often played at funerals, but also in the concert series of Concert Spirituel. This programme features two different works from Gilles.
