Trombone Heaven: For many years, Frank Rosolino (1926-1978) and Carl Fonata (1928-2003) were the grand masters on the West Coast. Both once performed in Stan Kenton’s band, both did studio work and both performed in small groups. In 1978 they finally came together in a quintet for a concert in Vancouver.
