# 21. SoundFjord presents: David Prior
=SoundFjord=
SoundFjord is a creative venture specialising in the production, curation, exhibition and promotion of sound, trans-media art and related research and practice. In 2013, SoundFjord unshackled itself from its North London studio and became a fully-fledged nomadic concern. Unfettered by the specificity of a single space, location or architecture, SoundFjord’s work is now to be found online, on air and in situ at a variety of places. www.soundfjord.org

"Underground"
Underground (dir. David Prior, Liminal 2013) is a radio adaptation of a multi-channel sound installation made for the Heartlands tin mining museum in Pool, Cornwall. The original installation is spread across seven rooms in two separate buildings, each space covering a specific theme relating to mining in Cornwall. Underground is an expanded programme based on the material presented a room dedicated to the experiences of the miners who worked in and beneath the buildings where the exhibition is now located. The piece combines spoken testimony, oral history archives and field recordings and treads a delicate line between documentary and soundscape composition.
Underground is based on interviews and field recordings made by David Prior for Heartlands, along with extracts taken from existing oral history archives made for the Geevor tin mine museum and the Mineral Tramways project.
