En Blanc et Noir – pianist Noël Lee plays the black and white keys. A five-part mini series, compiled by Evert Jan Nagtegaal. Noël Lee as part of an ensemble, as a composer, solo pianist and song pianist. Part 2: the Ensemble player
In 1954, Noël Lee met violinist Paul Makanowitzky, A Russion, born in Sweden and a student in Paris, who volunteered for the American army and fought during the 2nd World War. Lee had also been a soldier in the war. Lee started to perform with this exceptional violinist and ended up in the chamber music circuit. Lee loved the ensemble game, especially along with immensely talented, intellectual and mostly driven instrumentalists, singers and conductors. Lee worked with many violinists and has written a lot of works for the violin.
