In 1973, Ralf Hütter and Florian Esleben-Schneider were way ahead of their time. The ‘Ananas Symphonie’ is a piece from the period before Kraftwerk, which they prefer to ‘forget’. Undeservedly, because all the work they did for Autobahn is in all its simplicity and experimental drive worth the effort. That is why it fits in very well with the recently released compilation album ‘Air Texture V’. The lighthearted imagination, always compiled by two persons, makes for surprising musical combinations every time. The other veterans Richard Barbieri and the duo Hillage/Giraudy perfectly join in. During ‘intermission’, Koji Marutani creates a collage of sounds originating from CDs and TVs. So the 25th Under the Lemontree promises to be a fascinating journey.
