As a part of ‘Free Radicals’ today in ‘Under the Lemontree #15: ‘Just Listening:::Ireland Calling:::’. There’s more music from Ireland than just folk and U2. An entirely different side of the musical spectrum we find at Farpoint Recordings; a small record label founded in 2004 by Anthony Kelly and David Stalling.
Initially, to be able to express their own creativeness. Kelly and Stalling are active both in an audio and in a visual manner; paintings, shows, books, sound studies, etcetera. Nowadays, it’s a label where many a sound artist has found his place. Sound at the edge, just like a label at the edge. Almost all releases are numbered and limited editions in a beautiful design. Not very practical for the record cabinet but it’s never wrong to see what else is out there; something we at the Concertzender are very fond of doing. It’s a label with releases that deserve to be heard more often. Here a first instigation, just listen and lEARn!
