Folk magazine about the present and the past, from freak folk to minstrels. Today’s programme will feature Dobranotch. A few months ago, Dobranotch 20 years was released to celebrate their 20th anniversary. These CDs were broadcast by the Concertzender previously. In this program, you will also hear music from former CDs.
The band, consisting of a couple of friends and musicians from St. Petersburg was formed in France in 1998. After a period of travelling and changes in band members, they settled in St. Petersburg. They are inspired by traditional music from eastern Europe: Klezmer, Gypsies and Russia. At the end of the programme, you will hear perhaps their best-known piece: their own version of ‘Du Hast’ of the German band Rammstein, which includes a nice music video.
