Wolfgang Mitterer’s “Music For Checking E-mails” is a double album, consisting of 1 hour and 52 minutes of ambient music.
This edition of “Electronic Frequencies” features a 1-hour selection from that material.
Wolfgang Mitterer is a one-of-a-kind artist who blends classic instrumentation with electronics.
He began his musical journey with the organ and later discovered a love for synthesizers.
He has composed for orchestras using traditional methods as well as digital audio workstations.
This range of sound worlds that he has explored, including classical instrumentation, tape decks, and cutting-edge computers, has produced exceptional results.
In today’s world of readily available software and web 2.0 music applications, Mitterer’s unique musical vocabulary is a rarity.
In the accompanying booklet to the CD, Paul D Miller’s (aka DJ Spooky) says Mitterer dreams about music for which no pre-existing instrumental set-up or electronic rig exists.
He must phish for sounds inside the information-superhighway of his imagination.
But what he means by that doesn’t really matter because Mitterer’s music is simply impressively beautiful in composition and sound.
