1/ For Reza – Joachim Heinz, 2022. 07:31.
Encountering a dead person. Pursuing a way to him. A way to his music, here the beginning of Violet Room. The bells, bells, loud, persistent, thousand years without any change. Encountering the unbearable, perhaps that which was unbearable for him. That had no way out, that failed, that was too tight, that was hard, a burden, more and more burden, less and less relief, less space. Encountering the mercilessness of the real, the mighty, the real mighty. No, it cannot be continued. Really not. Written to the 50th birthday of Reza Korourian (1971-2015), invited by the friends of Yarava Music Group.
2/ Das Laufwerk – Leon Eckard, 2021. 08:32. Leon Eckard recorded for one day all sounds around him, in order to make a composition out of it. Thereby, he creates surreal soundscapes, reflecting the subjective experience of the composer, while bringing absurdities of everyday life to audition..
3/ Symposium – Maria Tsiantoula. 03:27. The work I chose to base my electroacoustic composition is called by Iordanis Poimenidis. It is an iron construction, a ‘metal canvas’ we would say, with geometric shapes of different textures and sizes that interact with each other to create an organism. Both its material and its structure formed the basis and the construction tools of my work.
4/ RNA LAB Quartet I – Roland Emile Kuit, 2021. 04:13.
Algorithmic morphing by nano mutations of historical pandemics. Post-pandemic sonic variants in KYMA.
5/ Scorci di Vita Quoitidiana in un Ambiente di Pineta – Daniele Castellani. 08:31.
An acousmatic work for ensemble and electronics. Musically the piece is a soundscape inspired by the typical natural sounds of a pine forest. The work is not presented as a mere representation of the natural environment, but rather, through the identification of precise sound timbres that refer to the pine forest environment, the composition recreates a realistic / imaginary soundscape.
6/ Ellen Taking Space – Chantier” 2020-2022, Jane Scroccaro. 08:56.
This is an extended version of a piece composed back in 2020 and now reworked for one of the scenes of the dance show “Die Seherinnen”
Three cohexisting spaces, where synthesised sounds, the noise of a construction site, and the voice transformed into a choir of slow machines place the listener in a multidimensional soundscape. The voice is totally absorbed by the landscape, evoking the synaesthetic images suggested by Jérôme Game’s text.
Chantier.
7/ Versi e Vista – Jacopo Paolini. 11:13.
An electroacoustic piece of concrete music produced by Jacopo Paolini for his master’s thesis in music and new technologies. Through the verses of his five-month-old uncle’s nephew Francesco, the composer describes the visual development of the first eight months of life. The experience that the child undertakes will lead him to reason and to the development of the gesture.
8/ Adaptatio-Farzad Hosseinabadi-excerpt. 07:00.
“Dr. Caf is a linguist. He has traveled to the city surrounded by the sea and the river Mond to collect terms and idioms that locals use to talk to each other. Suddenly, Mond has been overflowing. Therefore, he has been trapped. He has been waiting for an airplane to take him out… ” The piece is based on the above short novel written by Gholam-Hossein Sa’edi, an Iranian novelist and screenwriter, in 1966. It is a live electroacoustic piece for the Oud. There is no fixed media. The automate effects manipulate sounds performed by the Oud player.
