Charles Burney’s Travel Diaries. Episode 3: The journey through Italy, 1770.
Burney arrives in Turin in the late spring of 1770, where he hears music by composers Giardini and Pugnani. Burney is introduced to Giovanni Battista Marini’s, Tomaso Traëtta’s and Johann Christian Bach’s music in Milan and Giuseppe Tartini’s music in Padua.
