An educational programme featuring early music. On the trail of the Early Music Festival Utrecht 2018: composers at the court of Philip the Good.
The main theme of the festival was ‘the Burgundian lifestyle’ focusing on music performed at the courts of Philip the Bold, John the Fearless, Philip the Good and Charles the Bold.
Today we will play music for you from the composers at Philip the Good’s court. Philip the Good had a great love for music and he enriched the band with a string of prominent composers such as: Pierre de La Rue, Gaspar van Weerbeke, Alexander Agricola, Antoine de Divitis and others.
