An educational programme featuring early music. De Rore: Portrait of an amazing artist, Graindelavoix sings Cipriano de Rore.
Cipriano de Rore was a French-Flemish composer from the generation after Josquin des Prez. The work of De Rore was of great influence to Monteverdi a.o., but his music is seldomly performed. The Flemish vocal ensemble Graindelavoix tries to change this: in 2017 it released a CD with madrigals of this composer.
On the basis of this recording, we’ll pay attention to the life and work of De Rore.
