Series about and with Catalan gambist and conductor Jordi Savall. Part 2 on his new release Granada.
In this episode we play the second half of the latest CD of Hespèrion XXI and the Capella Reial de Catalunya: ‘Granada’.
With these recordings, Savall takes us through 500 years of South Spanish history from the 11th to the 15th century, from the founding of the realm of Granada by Zawi ibn Ziri to its downfall in 1492.
We complete the broadcast with an older album of the same performers: Mare Nostrum. Due to the historical theme of Medieval Spain, these albums fit together nicely.
