Episode 18: Milva, and the final episode
Classic Argentinian tango has many origins and influences, but the biggest contribution comes from Italian immigrants: composers, musicians and singers. No wonder tango is so popular in Italy. But tango was heavily adapted to Italy’s own singing traditions.
This broadcast focuses on Italian singer Milva. Her singing career started in the early 60’s and soon opened doors to the stage, film and TV. You will hear her perform classic tangos from Argentina and tangos of Kurt Weill and Astor Piazzolla.
