Museum tip
The Verwey Museum in Haarlem hosts an exhibition, ‘Close to Mari Andriessen’. The sculptor Andriessen is best known for his war memorials, such as the Dokwerker in Amsterdam. On display, are works that were never accessible, such as sculptures from private collections, medals and sketches of preliminary studies. It also highlights the Haarlem art scene and his friendship with the painter Kees Verwey.
