Performance Seraphim Ensemble
We welcome our following guests today: Mariela Flores, mezzo-soprano, recorderist Irene Sorozábal, and lutist Punto Bawono – the Seraphim Ensemble. They all studied at the conservatoire in Amsterdam. Here in the studio, they will play songs of Henri Purcell and John Dowland.
Performed works:
Henry Purcell:
- O Dive Custos from the Elegy on the Death of Queen Mary
- The fatal hour comes apace, from The Fairy Queen
- If love’s a sweet passion
John Dowland:
- Tell me, true love from A Pilgrimes Solace
Museum recommendation
The world’s first gigapixel museum is in The Hague, it is our respectable Mauritshuis. The museum has a scoop: it is the world’s first museum that has been digitalised completely in gigapixel format. This makes it possible to watch Potter’s Young Bull, Fabritius’s Goldfinch, and Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring in great detail. Website Mauritshuis
