Merkan is the name of the village in Syria his parents came from. Sîpan is the name of his late brother.
Sîpan Merkan often performed with his band at weddings and parties. He even travelled to Dubai to perform there. He also does a lot of shows in the Netherlands. Every monday evening he performs for the inhabitants of the care facility Philadelphia in Houten.
