Concerts from around the country, recorded by Concertzender
These two hours are once again filled with chamber music. Starting off with two beautiful French pieces. Debussy’s string quartet is a classic and the ultra-French Quatuor Van Kuijk has music this music in its genes.
The four Parisian gentlemen continue with a new work by Edith Carnat de Chizy. She was born in 1950 and wrote her fourth string quartet titled En noir et or especially for the Quatuor Van Kuijk. To close of their recital the quartet performs another milestone form musical history: the string quartet in D minor, nicknamed der Tod und das Mädchen by Franz Schubert. The programme closes with the monumental string quartet by Bruckner. This symphony for the chamber lasts for nearly 45 minutes. The Doelen Quartet is augmented by Jutta Puchhammer.
