Compiled by our Classical Music desk.
In early 2008, the Effenaar, the Eindhoven concert hall, did something very daring. The whole day was dedicated to adventurous improvised music.
Four concerts on the border of free jazz, modern classical music, electronic music, elocution and total madness – you probably won’t fill the hall with that. No problem for the people behind this concert. Nor a problem for the adventurous music-lover, who can tolerate a dissonant tone and is not frightened by a completely unexpected turn of events. Those who love experimentation, unpredictability, the joy of playing above smooth perfection, music without taboos, will fully enjoy this programme. It is also warmly recommended to others. Music like this keeps your ears sharp and the bursting joy of playing will make every listener happy.
