Gerda Havertong is known to the public for her role in Sesam Street. With her role in Sesamstraat, she remained close to her educational roots. She is a graduate of a pedagogy with a major subject of education. After an active period in education in Suriname and the Netherlands, she chose the world of art and culture. Due to its versatility, she covers various disciplines. Gerda is engaged in short enactments, poetry and narratives for children, and nomination of poems from third world literature in combination with music. She sings songs in Sranan-Tongo, Dutch and English. She is a frequent guest in several TV shows. Gerda Havertong; I feel related to children, senior citizens and people who experience a difficult period in their lives. I would like to help where necessary.
