Norbert Burgmüller (1810-1836)
We’re familiar with two composers who died young: Mozart was 35, Schubert 31. But there are more. Burgmüller was only 26. Not Friedrich with his very useful, very boring piano studies, but his younger brother Norbert (1810-1836). In this episode we’ll hear his 1st Symphony and parts of his 3rd String Quartet. It’s Romantic music at its finest; exuberant and virtuoso.
