A special regarding the Liszt Competition 2020: Beethoven by Liszt.
Liszt was a huge fan of Beethoven and greatly inspired by him. Not surprisingly then that Liszt made piano arrangements of all his symphonies. In 1845 – 75 years after Beethoven was born – Liszt also initiated a three-day festival in Beethoven’s birth place Bonn. On this occassion, he wrote his Beethoven Cantata.
