Dieter van der Westen and his band were our guests at the Kargadoor Utrecht
Dieter van der Westen is a Dutch singer-songwriter, composer and music producer. During the Spring of 2016, he released his second album called Old Oak Tree.
Dieter strongly prefers to use acoustic instruments in his music. His lyrics are associative, partly autobiographical and simple and pure. His latest album Old Oak Tree, contains ten new tracks with his own material. The style is Americana with a hint of world music. To present his new album, Dieter plays with several musicians who all helped in to produce the album.
Dieter is known for his work with the North African group Kasba, of which he is one of the driving forces. He performs with Kasba in Europe, Africa and South America. In the Netherlands, Dieter van der Westen has been working with artists like Thé Lau, Blof, Paul de Leeuw, Frank Boeijen, Ali B, Eric Vloeimans, Gerard van Maasakkers, Astrid Nijgh and the Metropool Orkest.
