The series Jordi Savall on Tuesday 3rd March (14.00-15.00, repeated) is devoted to the most recent production from Savall, the double cd " War and Peace 1614-1714 ", containing compositions around the theme "War and Peace ".
Accompanying the cd is an almost 400 page long book describing the historic background of Europe in the 17th century, which was characterised by war, conflict, crisis, peace and ultimately reconciliation. It gives a representative picture of an era in Europe full of conflicts and wars.
By way of musical examples Savall shows that the 17th century was a long string of sad wars and conflicts between ethnic groups in Europe.
