thu 2 mar 2023 20:00 hour

Browsing through Early Music, with a focus on Masses. Parts from Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine in the versions from 1610 and 1650. The version of the “Vespro della Beata Vergine” from 1610 is performed by Apollo’s Fire conducted by Jeannette Sorrell and that of 1650 by La Capella Ducale & Musica Fiata conducted by Roland Wilson.

Wilson used the publication by Vincenti from 1650 with late motets by Monteverdi, and thus made a reconstruction of the ‘alternative’ Mariavespers.
