Jukka-Pekka Kervinen (b. 1961) is a Finnis composer, writer and visual artist. He studied musicology and computing at the University of Helsinki, and composition privately. Later studies in Open University (UK, Milton Keynes).
He is focusing on algorithmic and computer-assisted musical processes, mostly chamber music and solo works. Microtonal, experimental and electronic pieces for combinations of human-machine interactions, sound processing and computer-assisted scores for more conventional settings of chamber and solo works. His electronic works are mostly algorithmic, using ChucK, cSound and OpenMusic. These works ranging from avantgarde/experimental electroacoustic pieces to IDM, glitch, techno and various combinations of different “genres”.
