Singer Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996) was one of the most swinging singers ever. In 1957 and 1960 she some concerts at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, that are some of the best of her productive career. Energy, looseness, improvisation (scatting), all her skills and talents are largely featured. Accompanied by a fine quartet and exuberantly cheered on by the audience, this is a party for the ears. And it’s extra special because of the 100th anniversary of her birth.
