A musical serial, episode 46: Easter Sunday, from electronic drones to two Misereres.
The second part of Morphon’s Om leads us into a drone containing plainchant for the Holy Week. The chant leads us to two settings of Miserere Mei Deus, repetitive and hypnotizing, and a long organ piece by Messiaen. Sometimes Allegri, Messiaen and Gesualdo go together just fine. In a future episode we may get down to the reason for that.
