The album If It Was So Simple by Longdancer
Some records have no success when they are released, and years later they suddenly become interesting somehow. This happened in the case of If It Was So Simple, and to a lesser degree to its successor Trailer For A Good Life. After all, the leader of The Tourist and The Eurythmics Dave A. Stewart made in 1973 his LP debut with the British group Longdancer. And that was very different from the produced synthpop of The Eurythmics. But it goes too far to attribute the interest in the debut album If It Was So Simple just to the reputation of Stewart. Because the disc actually contains musical gems. A reason to pay attention to it in this Disc-cover –where we remind you of gems from the roots-music history which got lost, gathered dust or were repressed. Listen to many-voiced vocals, interweaved acoustic guitar parts, cryptic philosophical lyrics and accessible folk rock.
