The Collegium Musicum Ultrajectinum, part 1. 17th and 18th century music from the directory of this college in Utrecht.
In 1631 11 gentlemen of the Dutch nobility and the upper middle class of Utrecht established a society to make music together.This ‘Collegium Musicum Ultrajectinum’ partly defined the musical life in Utrecht until the 20th century.In this first of 2 episodes the history of the college in the 17th century will be discussed. The music you will hear is based on the directory of sheet music of the college from 1657
