Programme maker/presenter Thijs Bonger reports the remarkable build-up to a special Russian concert in the Amsterdam Conservatory.

Music sounded in the Amsterdam Conservatory that only caught dust for a century and a half.Nicolai Zaremba was teacher of Tsjaikovski. Because of his conservative taste and Western oriented style of composing he raised a stir under his nationalistic colleagues, under which Moesorgski. In the time of the Soviet he was ignored and suppressed.
This concert was recorded by the Concertzender. So it’s a world premiere.
