Mariama with tradi-modern sounds

Kundungu.jpg
Mundungu                          Kundungu
This time, a Mariama focused on the so-called tradi-modern sound. In other words: traditional music and rhythms, amplified electrically and often played on self-built instruments made out of tin, old iron and such. Groups like Konono No.1 from Congo for example, but there is more, such as the karindula music from Congo that most likely has its origin in Zambia and is named after the main instrument, a sort of bass banjo made out of a large oil can, with snares made out of rope and strung with goat skin.
