On Wednesday 8 March it’s International Women’s Day. 100 years ago women in Holland got the vote. The Concertzender will celebrating this special day with a lot of music by female composers.
From 7.00 am to 22.00 in various programmes you can hear music composed by music, from Baroque to contemporary.
In particular in Concertzender Actueel at 15.00 an interview with Minister Jet Bussemaker of the OCW about diversity. You can also hear Toni Boumans, biographer of cellist and conductor Frieda Belinfante .
The programme Radio Mona Lisa, which is normally broadcast Sunday between 11.00 and 12.00, will get special attention on Wednesday. The programme will conclude this Women’s Day with a two hour long special in which you can hear music from composers such as Francesca Caccini (1587-1641) to Calliope Tsoupaki (born 1963).

15:00 Concertzender Actueel with among other things interviews with minister Jet Bussemaker about diversity, and with writer Toni Boumans, who wrote a biography about cellist and conductor Frieda Belinfante (1904-1995).
19:00 Kroniek van de Nederlandse Muziek with music by composer Johanna Bordewijk-Roepman.
20:00 Radio Mona Lisa with the International Women’s Day special.
