In Concertzender Live on Thursday 12th January at 20.00 you can hear recordings of 2 recent concerts of early Dutch music, performed by the Dutch ensembles Collegium Musicum Den Haag and Camerata Trajectina.
The first recording was made during the 10e Huygens Festival on 4th and 5th June 2016 in Leidschendam-Voorburg.
The Stichting Huygens Festival was inspired by the many talents of Constantijn Huygens, but also of his son Christiaan Huygens. The programming of the Huygens Festival consisted of music from the time of Constantijn and Christiaan Huygens; music they heard, played or composed and performed in the “authentic” manner.
On 4th June in the Oude Kerk in Voorburg there was a concert by the baroque orchestra COLLEGIUM MUSICUM Den Haag. Together with soprano Michaela Riener they played the programme ‘The musical world of Constantijn and Christiaan Huygens’.
The second recording was made during the Festival De Muze van Zuid on 21st and 22nd May 2016. This festival consisted of previously unheard music by Dutch composers. In the successful first edition in 2016 Amsterdam Zuid was the stage for Dutch music from different centuries.
Camerata Trajectina played for De Muze van Zuid a programme with music from the 16th and 17th century by among others Joan Albert Ban, Cornelis Schuyt, Constantijn Huygens and songs to texts by Hooft and Vondel. So could the street names around the Vondelpark be heard which remind us of the Muiderkring .
